Hans Grimus Commemorative Sculpture
Hans Grimus was a larger than life member of the Mt Buller community for nearly 50 years.
Hans is one of many personalities who have shaped the history of the mountain. This sculpture will capture his youthful enthusiasm and the hopes of those who went before him and those who will come after.
Positioned on the road leading into the village the new community-funded sculpture will provide an inviting welcome to Mt Buller, much as Hans did to his award winning Pension Grimus for over 40 years.
Cast in bronze it will feature Hans and his beloved dog Kaptan sitting on the original Bourke Street double chairlift. Designed by award winning Australian sculptors Peter Corlett OAM, Dean Colls and Louise Skacejwe.
