Chris Hilton-Wood
Photographer /Cinematographer/Film Producer/Director.

Chris Hilton-Wood was born at the end of the fifties, growing up at Mt Buller son of ski lift pioneer John B Hilton-Wood (founder of the Blue Lifts). Chris started taking photos and shooting super 8 film in the early seventies. It was not long after that when Chris honed in on his two career paths:

Teaching skiing with the then French Ski School and expanding his knowledge base in film by attending the AFTRS in Melbourne. Ski teaching took Chris all over the world - Apart from instructing work, he would shoot photos and film.

He also expanded his education in ski instruction by taking international exams - he now holds a French National Diploma of skiing and also is a Full Certified Instructor with the PSIA in America, that combined with his Examiner/trainer history with the APSI, makes him still one of the most highly qualified instructors in the world. To this day he still helps out with the Buller Snowsports School.

Chris has also done many years of study with the AFTRS expanding his education in film and TV. Chris currently owns a production company CHWFilms based in Melbourne shooting TV, Documentary, Advertising and Film. He also shoots News for the Nine Network. Presently Chris is working on a feature film in production in Melbourne as the Director of Photography shooting in the new High Definition Television format.

He has taught skiing for over 34 winters and has worked in film for over 20. He has skied for over 41 years.

Chris shoots his "still" photography (photographs) with a Mamiya 645 Medium Format camera and a Canon 10D Digital SLR.
